I've decided to add drug abstinence to my alcohol abstinence, and this one is tough. I'd recently gotten down to two pills a day, a hydrocodone pain pill in the morning and one at night. All the other shit I was taking is already gone. Depression meds, sleep aids, Parkinson's, all old drug history. Now, so is the pain med.
But the pain in my recovering broken ankle is still real, and as the day progresses I realize how effective that hard drug was. I've put my new short boot on to keep the weight off my ankle, but that's about to end soon. All it does is add to the pain.
Crawling is a possible good option. I enjoy going to the kitchen for water and occasional food. The bathroom is a necessity and I relish my new found independence.
I've been sleeping really good lately, sobriety and my 81 year old teddy bear help a lot with that. As for depression, fuck that shit. And Parkinson's is at the bottom of my worry list.
And I'm very glad to be alive and be myself!
